Process

Construction can be a very time-consuming and potentially stressful endeavor and the selection of an architect to assist the owner through this process is a very critical decision. Our firm can provide design services only or provide services for the entire process from design through final occupancy.

Typically architectural services are divided into four phases: Schematic Design; Construction Documents to include Plans and Specifications; Assistance with Bidding, Permitting and Contract Negotiations; and Construction Observation Services.

Matthew Fowler, Architect is a design-oriented architectural firm. Its primary focus is on creative exploration of design solutions. After extensive analysis of the site and conversations with owner concerning requirements and desires, schemes are developed using sketches and 3D modeling and rendering.

Generally, the schemes explore various options to verify that alternatives have been considered. With owner input, a final scheme is developed, and upon approval, construction documents are developed and submitted for bidding and permitting. During construction, at the owner's discretion, the architect can provide assistance with various construction observation services.
